Inner Beauty

Sorry I haven't been on recently, I've been in a no computer zone for the past few weeks. But I'm back and ready to get you some more beauty tips!

So lately I've realized that most of my beauty tips have been on makeup, but beauty isn't only skin deep though tons claim it is. So this is going to be on inner beauty and don't move your mouse to x out this page just yet! This is not your run of the mill beauty comes from the inside, blah blah blah! This is going to be about inner beauty and outer beauty! Read on and find out exactly what I mean.

Okay, so I know everyone says, I'm a good person, I don't rob banks or steal from children, I do my job well and I'm a law abiding citizen. But that is far from inner beauty, take a look at your lifestyle. Do you lie to your friends because you think they'll like you more if you cool and fake stories about yourself? Do you refuse to do the dishes even if you know you have to, or calm a crying child even if no ones watching? If you're being truthful, the answer is probably no. No I'm not saying that anyone's perfect or that I always do these things myself, if I did say that than I'd be a hypocrite. But inner beauty isn't being perfect, it's knowing your flaws, accepting them and doing your best to change them. The same way you use an acne scrub to fight blackheads, you know they're there, you've accepted them and now you're fighting them. Or the way you know that you're hair needs more conditioner, you know about it, you accept it, you fight it. Do the same things with flaws like greed or arrogance.

Think of a hero/heroine of a story you really like. Act more like them, more self confident-but not stuck up, bold-but not mental hospital worthy crazy, nice-but for reasons more than attention. Know that you have flaws, accept them and try to change them. If you begin being a person with inner beauty, it'll begin to show with outer beauty.  Being self-confident gives you a sort of glow, being bold with your actions will help you to be bold with your makeup and being kind makes you feel better about yourself and if you feel better about yourself you're more self confident. Creating an infinite loophole of beauty, inner and outer alike.

Vaseline, Lemon Juice, Sugar, Apple Juice and Avocado

No this isn't some terrible, horrible meal I got at a bad restaurant. These are some ways to improve your face/hair to the max! Sorry I haven't been on for a while, but I got some fresh new news to tell you guys!!

Vaseline: I know everyone out there knows what Vaseline is, but this petroleum jelly concoction is for more than just your lips. Vaseline can also be used for your eyelashes! Crazy right? How you may ask, simple. Every night for as long as you like rub Vaseline in your eyelashes and over the course of about a week you'll notice your lashes looking thicker and longer. Because eyelashes have a cycle where new ones grow in and old ones fall out you may think that you have to do this for the absolute rest of your life. Not true actually, the Vaseline in your eyelashes helps new lashes grown in thicker and longer! But you can do this for the rest of your life, if you'd like.

Lemon Juice: This is a fun and easy way to get natural highlights during the summer. What you do is take a spray bottle, and fill it with half lemon juice (not lemonade, it's really sticky), a quarter water, and a quarter oil (olive oil works well). The mix does not have to be exactly accurate. The next time you go out n the sun, spray the concoction all over your hair. you'll have to stay in the sun for an extended period of time (at least one hour) so do this when going to the beach or something like that. Take a shower that night, and when you do make sure to use more conditioner than usual, as the lemon acids will dry your hair out, even with the oil. It depends what kind of hair type you have, but the color of the highlights will range from dark reddish to light blonde. If you do this for even just a month, you'll have natural highlights by the end of summer.
*Tip: while out in the sun, don't forget sunscreen- your new hair color will NOT look good next to a sunburn!

Sugar: If you have straight hair, but thin strands this is the move for you! Mix 2 tsp of brown sugar and 1 cup of warm water in a spray bottle (Shake Well!!!). Mist damp your hair from your roots to the absolute ends! Style it however you like!

Apple Juice: If you have wavy hair then here is a quick fix for you! Though I've always been envious of people with wavy hair, waves can look dull at times! Give your waves a nice shine with this quick fix! Soak your hair in 1 part apple juice 2 parts lemon juice (Apply to freshly washed hair!). Leave the apple juice and lemon juice in for a minute then rinse it out. Though this may seem weird and maybe a little crazy, it'll be worth it too give you waves a shine!

Avocado: Curls need tons of moisture to stay that luxurious, curly way! Wanna know how you can do this? Take mashed avocado and a dab of sour cream and coat your hair with it! Leave it in for a full 20 minutes and then you may rinse out this disgusting stuff out of your hair!

Note: Most of these (if not all of them) may seem gross, weird, crazy and/or disgusting! And that's perfectly normal to come across, but they really do help and I really hope you try them!

Enjoy!

Hi guys, now we all no that summer is ahead and I have the perfect ways to getting the most out of you're makeup!

First you need to find a long lasting waterproof lip-gloss or lip stain. They're real easy to find and there are tons now that it's getting close to summer!

Another thing is to find waterproof mascara and eyeliner for your eyes. It's almost impossible to find good, high quality waterproof eye shadow so don't bother, but water proof mascara and eyeliner are fairly easy to come by.

Waterproof concealer isn't as tricky as it seems, the best ones to use are usually the under-eye concealers, but there are plenty of perfectly good other kinds of concealer as well.

You can try to get a bronzer, but if you use these tricks you can have tons of fun at the beach and get that healthy glow ASAP. But remember, no matter how tempting, do NOT go to a tanning bed, it really can give you skin cancer and it's just terrible!

Those girls won't worry about makeup anymore
A great way to look at this kind of makeup is in the store, though it's very tempting to go online and look at it, going to a store will allow you to listen other peoples ideas on this makeup, but if you still want to check out some online a great site is http://www.elle.com/Beauty/Makeup-Skin-Care/Best-Waterproof-Makeup/Best-Waterproof-Makeup

On your way to whiter teeth

Hey guys, I know it's been a while but I'm back and I wanted to talk about  how we get those pearly whites as pretty as they can be!

A drink with every meal, preferably water, can do more than wash down your food. It can actually help get food out of your teeth, okay I know that sounds gross, but it's true. And it's worth a little drink if it can help make your teeth shine!

Brush your teeth at least 2 times a day, everyday. Also floss and use mouth wash, that is the basics for keeping your teeth clean and healthy, besides it makes your mouth totally kissable.

Don't eat sugary food that gets stuck to your teeth a lot. For example caramel! It's one of the biggest candies on the market, but it can seriously rot your teeth, it's worse than chocolate, though not by much. And it's not only your mouth that will thank you, your waistline will be happier too!

White teeth, here I come!
Keep an emergency floss roll in your purse, it's extremely embarrassing to have food stuck between your teeth, so keep some floss in your bag at all times, while your at it you might wanna add some disposable toothbrushes and mini mouthwash too.

If your still not comfortable showing off your teeth in public try wearing dark lipstick, it will make your teeth look whiter in comparison and can boost your confidence! Besides dark lipstick looks great on any skin tone, so you don't have to worry to much about finding your absolute perfect shade!

If your still not comfortable having your teeth be seen than you can make a habit of brushing 3 or 4 times a day, getting more regular dental visits and never eating sweets. That should make you feel a bit better, but I can not guarantee that my tricks will help you feel better about your teeth, no one can, but it will help a lot of people in my opinion.

 See ya

What goes welll with stilletos?

Stilettos, probably my favorite shoe style on the market! But people wonder what kind of makeup they should wear with a stiletto heel, the answer, EVERYTHING!

Light makeup allows you to look natural and goes great with a light pink stiletto.

Crazy electric blues, hot pinks and amazing purples are perfect for a crazy stiletto!
And classic dark lipstick and dark, but not to dark eyeshadow and a brownish-red blush  looks great with some classy stilettos!

The only thing that doesn't go with stilettos is a cow, but that's it! These shoes have been around for ages, and I hope they'll stay until the earth dies!

Man, they've thought of everything!
Chic, but not too fancy, PERFECT!
I've never cried at beauty, until now

LIPGLOSS!

Lip-gloss is different for everyone, for me I need a sheer, light color or a deep, dark red. Normally I use the lighter of the two.

Every girl needs her own lip-gloss ritual. This is mine:

1) Apply chap-stick; my lips get very chapped very easily

2) Add a see-through gloss; normally people do this after having the color, but when you do your nails you have a base coat, then over, then top coat, so why not do the same with lips??

3) I add a light color coat; [reason listed in part #2]

4) And lastly, to give a glittery look I add another transparent coat; [reason listed in part #2]
Is it possible to hate lip-gloss??? Answer: OH HECK NO!

Love Month!

Okay, I know that the Super Bowl just happened and that all of you Giants fans are pumped and all of you Patriots fans are sad (I am a Pats fan, and yes I am very sad). But February is the month of love, now if you're lucky enough to get a visit from cupid and find someone special, you're going to need the perfect makeup!

Makeup artist Pamela Taylor believes Valentine's Day is a perfect time to experiment with a new look. The good news: You can create these fresh, romantic looks easily with hardly any extra effort. Here, Pamela describes three ultra-feminine Valentine's Day makeup looks.

For a soft, romantic makeup look:

"The key to keeping your look soft is to use sheer, muted colors and avoid overdoing any one area of your face. There are lots of sheer, beautiful pinks at the cosmetics counter that look wonderful on all skin tones, whether you have pale white or deep brown skin. If you could buy only one new product for your updated, fresh romantic look, make it pink lip-gloss with brown undertones. This shade is gorgeous and looks fantastic on everyone.
"To create the face: Curl your lashes and apply either black or brown mascara. (Make sure you don't use too much.) After you've prepared you face as you normally do, softly contour you cheeks with a very pale, sheer pink blush, placing it just on your cheekbones. Again, keep it light. You just want an accent of a neutral pink to give your face a lift. (Dip your blush brush lightly into the color then tap it off before applying it gently to your face.) Add the gloss to your lips and you're done!"

For a vivid, sexy makeup look:

"The key to this look is to enhance your eyes in a dazzling way by adding individual lashes to your lash line. Take a trip to local pharmacy or beauty store and buy a set of lashes and clear eyelash adhesive. (I promise you: If it's clear and you apply it correctly, you won't be able to detect it!) First, apply mascara to your natural lashes. Next, dip the back part of the underside of the lash into the adhesive and piggyback it onto the outer corner of your natural lashes. (Do not dip the entire bottom of the lash in the glue or you will get a glob.) Add from 3 to 6 lashes at the outer corners of each eye. This look is very sexy and flirty without looking overdone. The few extra lashes will really open up your eyes and give your whole face life.
"For a slightly sparkly, glossy look, apply a very sheer shimmer shadow to the lids that will brighten your eyes. Use a sheer cheek color and deep Bordeaux red lipstick or rich, berry lip stain. If you want to add a beauty mark for fun, dip the tip of a tiny brush into liquid eyeliner and make a little circle where you'd like to see a beauty mark. After it dries, lightly powder over it to keep it in place.

For a lovely, smoldering makeup look:

Another very pretty look for Valentine's Day is a smoldering eye with matte face and mouth. It's very clean and romantic. Unlike a smokey eye, in which dark shadow is smudged all over the lid, a smoldering eye calls for just enough dark shadow at the ends to soften your look and make your eyes pop. Use pale pink shadow on the lid, and sheer, smoldering charcoal at the corner ends of the eyes. (Best to apply this with a chiseled fluff brush or shadow crease brush.) You can also add a little bit under the eye. Be sure to use a light touch. And remember, the key to the smoldering eye is to make sure before you apply any color that your eyelid is gently powdered with a neutral powder, because any oil will grab dark color and create an inconsistency.
"Next, apply mascara and comb and groom your eyebrows. For a nice, matte mouth, use a deep ruby lip color. Heavy glossy lips will detract from your dramatic, smoldering eyes. If you have ruddy skin, choose a warmer, yellow red. In general, though, jewel- toned lipsticks look great on everyone and they happen to match the theme of the day!"

Bold 'n Edgy

Everyone wants to be bold and stand out, but how do you know when enough to be bold ends and where too much begins?

Well first off you have to know what your colors are, then try something a bit edgier like electric blue or shimmery gold! But you don't want to over do these colors, so start with a base of your trusted colors.

Mila Kunis...I see something dark in her eyes....

Rihanna: Green without e
Once you're done with those add a hint of these colors, see how they look, and if your look ends up correctly dab off the edgy makeup with a makeup remover and try a different color or add less. A few celebs could give you some hints...

As you see most of the attention is drawn to their eyes, this is because it's easy to play up your eyes without going overboard. When you wear bright blue lipstick, green eyeshadow and electric purple blush, you look a bit crazy.

You might ask how you know what edgy colors are right for you. The answer is simple: all of them, the fact that it's different and out there is what makes it cool! The best way for you to find what colors work best for you are based on two things.

A) Your personality, what you think is the most important opinion of all!

B) EXPERIMENT!! Try new things, take a walk on the wild side, show off some of those colors you bought when you were younger that you grew out of!!

Extravagant Hair

Emma Roberts rockin' a low pony tail
Beyonce staying simple with straight hair
People often think that to make their hair look good they have to be very extravagant. But it could be just the opposite, when doing your hair it's better to look a bit too simple than to look over the top. The worst feeling for me is to walk into a room and have everyone stare at me, because I'm over-dressed. Hair can be a beneficiary to looking too extravagant, so keeping hair nice and simple is a good way to play it safe. These starlets know to keep it simple.

Bed Time Routines

Everyone has a checklist for what they do before they go to bed, sometimes it changes a bit, but it's usually the same. See if your checklist has everything you need to do!

1) Brush your hair: It's important to brush your hair before you go to bed to avoid nasty snarls in the morning.

2) Take a shower: Clinical hygiene is important, so make sure to take a shower before bed.

3) Wash your face: Even though you just took a shower, you  need to wash your face before bed, even if it's really late and you're tired.

4) Turn off the computer, stop texting on your cell phone and put away your iPads and Tablets an hour before you go to bed: Most electronic devices give off artificial light that will keep you up, turn them off an hour before you catch your Z's.

*Tip: If you have thick hair put it in a ballerina bun or braid it before bed to help avoid last minute hair fiascoes

Picking Colors

Colors are extremely important when dealing with makeup! This is so you make sure you pick the right colors, rather than the wrong ones.

--Soft pinks and sheer textures are great for warm weather; creamy dark wines and plums are ripe for winter.

--Olive skin looks its best in light browns with warm tones, or dark brownish-reds. STAY AWAY FROM PINKS/ORANGE-REDS!!

--Fair complexions are great  with shades that have a warm pink or peachy glow, or a dramatic red with bluish tint.

--Dark skin is flattered by deep reds with blue or purple tones, or deep reddish-browns. STAY AWAY FROM PINKS/ORANGE-REDS!!

*Tip: Neutral tones can be your best friend on casual days and weekend afternoons, but when it comes time to go out to town or and fun party, nothing suits you better than a gorgeous red!

A little intro

Before I start posting about beauty tips, there are a few things you need to know.

1) Makeup is not to hide your natural beauty, but to enhance it. Don't pile on globs of makeup and think it makes you look better, add a little bit of makeup and feel a bit more confident about yourself.

2) NO TANNING SALONS! As much as people like to think that when you're tan you look prettier, it isn't always true. Those orange-pinks that you love to wear now, once you're tan, they won't look all too good on you.

3) Never be afraid to experiment. Just because since you were 5 you loved that rosy shade of pink, doesn't mean you can't try things like bold reds or a crazy magenta! Beauty changes, way back when, it was considered "beautiful" to be fat and pale, now its skinny and tan! So don't be afraid to try new things, who knows, you might just start a trend!

4) People have different opinions, so don't let anyone tell you you're not beautiful in your own skin! Everyone is beautiful, but in their own way, that's why it's so cool to be a person. You are beautiful, but just because you don't look like Miley Cyrus's twin sister, doesn't mean you aren't beautiful! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, just because your bestie doesn't like your new 'do, doesn't mean it isn't cute!
